I don't need counselling or therapy because... I'm not mad Many people think they have to be seriously mentally disturbed before they go and see a counsellor or therapist. Unfortunately, our largely capitalist world denies the importance of feelings until they become out of control and affect our social life or personal relationships. Rather than wait for a crisis to occur, it is much better to gain some understanding and perspectives on why our emotions or relationships trouble us. A few sessions (between 15-35) with a counsellor or therapist can resolve:
Far too many people are afraid that they are going mad and can never be normal if they have been put on medication by their GP. The RPL team can tell the difference between acute psychiatric needs and those of ordinary people who simply need a chance to talk through their personal problem with a skilled counsellor. The counsellor/therapist sheds light on situations to empower and free the client to get going with their life again. For those who benefit from the process, they can choose how many more sessions they wish to continue with. So, if you still feel undecided, why not give us a ring, talk through your problem with us, and your concerns - you'll find us very understanding. We are happy to listen to your own personal circumstances, answer any questions you might have about counselling and therapy, and advise you whether it would be helpful for you to arrange a further meeting. But, if what you've read strikes any chords with you, then perhaps it's time to take the first step forward to a brighter future..
